Future projected change in mean temperature (F) from the 1961-1990 baseline average. Use the tool for clicking on the map to see graphs of future projected change in mean annual temperature and total annual precipitation at that location. Note that these maps are future climate projections from one (CSIRO-MK3.0 climate model with A1B CO2 emissions scenario) of many available scientifically-based global climate models.

Climate projections are from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC 2007) A1B CO2 emissions scenario (moderate emissions, SRES 2000), and were projected by CSIRO Atmospheric Research, Australia, MK3.0 general circulation model (GCM). This projection was downscaled to an 8km resolution for North America. Individual years reflect a 10 year rolling average. Downscaling was performed by the MAPSS Team, Ron Neilson, Lead, US Forest Service PNW Station.

We acknowledge the modeling groups, the Program for Climate Model Diagnosis and Intercomparison (PCMDI) and the WCRP's Working Group on Coupled Modelling (WGCM) for their roles in making available the WCRP CMIP3 multi-model dataset. Support of the original GCM dataset is provided by the Office of Science, U.S. Department of Energy.
